Official Awards Predictions 2009 (Complete With Top 5 Voting)

Figured I’d follow up my divisional predictions with the awards coverage I said I’d have.

Because I’m mean, I’m going to make you follow the jump. You can’t resist the urge to figure out why this post is tagged with “Luke Hochevar”! You know you can’t!

Okay.

Here we go.

  1. Tim Lincecum
  2. Roy Oswalt
  3. Danny Haren
  4. Clayton Kershaw
  5. Chris Volstad

  5. Albert Pujols

RoY:

  1. Cameron Maybin
  2. J.A. Happ
  3. Chris Volstad will be the only other player to receive votes. He will originally receive first place, but will be disqualified when someone points out that he’s not actually a rookie.

  1. Grady Sizemore
  2. Jason Bay
  3. Dustin Pedroia
  4. Brian Roberts
  5. Jed Lowrie

RoY:

  1. Matt Wieters, who won’t actually have a great season but to whom the award will default when people realize that …
  2. Jed Lowrie isn’t actually eligible and …
  3. David Price’s arm fell off halfway through the season.

Comeback Player of the Year: Bobby Crosby

Just how angry are you now? C’mon, leave a comment. You know you want to.

Angry? Nope, but I may not agree – but one can’t be angry on Opening Day in Cincinnati. The game is king here, so at least we get one day out of 81 for excitement.

    Good luck with your predictions.
